Himalayan Snowcock
We refer to this bird as “Mountain goats with wings“ as they are only in the Ruby Mountains and East Humboldt ranges in Nevada. This is the only place in the country to find these elusive birds. Himalayan snowcocks were introduced into the Ruby Mountains and east Humboldts in the 1960s and have sustained a high population. This hunt is very similar to our mountain goat hunts as we use horses and backpacking methods to access the hunting areas. Himalayan snowcock season starts September 1 -November 30.
